Like all other creatures from this category, it follows you around, providing companionship. You need Celestial Wand to summon the entity.

Celestial Wand stats and features

Here are the item’s basic stats and effects:

Requires Bought for 1 platinum from Traveling Merchant
TypePet summon
RarityPink
Sells for20 gold
EffectsGrants Estee buff

If you carefully read the table above, you’ll notice that this pet is categorized as a buff. As soon as you summon it, the Estee icon will appear on the screen.

This cosmetic minion is invulnerable, and it remains active for as long as you live. Alternatively, you can get rid of it by pressing the buff icon. In that regard, it’s similar to other game effects. Another way to remove it is by logging out; the creature doesn’t remain active through several playthroughs.

When purchasing Celestial Wand, you’re not actually purchasing just the tool. Instead, you’re getting the whole Star Princess Set. It consists of Star Princess Dress, Star Princess Crown, and, of course, Celestial Wand. Keep in mind that the set isn’t always available, so you’ll likely have to visit the vendor several times.

All these items have to be equipped in vanity slots to take effect. The only exception is the Celestial Wand, which you can use once and put aside (similar to other tools). The item doesn’t even have to stay in your inventory for summon to remain active.

Who is Estee, and what does it do?

As previously mentioned, this is a small creature in a shape of a yellow star with cute black eyes. It’s continuously changing its shading, becoming brighter or dimmer. According to the developers, the pet is meant to pay homage to Power Stars from Super Mario 64. Estee also resembles Lumas from Super Mario Galaxy.

As for the Star Princess set and Celestial Wand, as a whole, they also reference the world’s most popular plumber. They’re made to look like Rosalina’s outfit. As you can presume, she is also a character from Super Mario Galaxy.

Despite its cute appearance, you can’t expect much from this jovial star. It just goes around, not doing anything to help the main character. When falling or moving at high speeds, the creature leaves a beautiful trail behind it. However, this is only a visual effect and doesn’t have an impact on the gameplay.

Estee is always positioned behind you, just a bit above your head. Although this cosmetic minion looks like a star, it doesn’t shine any light in its vicinity. Like with other cosmetics, you can dye it in different colors. Using Reflective Obsidian Dye will make the summon look like Fallen Star.

Is Estee worth the money?

Whether or not this critter is worth one platinum coin is up to you. We’re big fans of Super Mario and love the references. So much so that a few of our team members only use this pet during their Terraria adventures.

Anyway, if you’ve come to the end of the game and have all these items unlocked, one platinum coin won’t make much of a difference. Even if you don’t like Estee after seeing it in action, we think that the spunky star is worth the try.

10 Best Terraria Character Ideas https://avidgamer.gg/best-terraria-character-ideas/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=best-terraria-character-ideas Sat, 03 Sep 2022 08:54:29 +0000 https://avidgamer.gg/?p=1079 More...]]> You can use Terraria character ideas to freshen up your experience. Play as Final Fantasy Cloud Strife or mad scientist; the choice is all yours! Although some of these builds are more for a show, they can still enhance your gaming experience.

10 Best Terraria character ideas

1. Cloud Strife

With this idea, we pay homage to one of the most memorable video game characters, Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy. Honestly, Terraria creators beat us to a punch with this one. They’ve already introduced the Breaker Blade, which has the same shape as Cloud’s Buster Sword.

  • Character creation: Blonde spikey hair combined with dark blue/purple clothes.
  • Cosmetics: Kimono somewhat resembles Cloud’s clothing. You might also go with the Fallen Tuxedo collection.
  • Main weapon/armor: Breaker Blade is a must. You can also go with Gi Armor.

2. Link

Here’s another popular video game character idea that you can try out. Like with Cloud Strife, Terraria creators thought about Zelda’s Link when making vanity sets. This collection of items perfectly matches the character’s clothes. Even if your character doesn’t look right (i.e., he doesn’t have blonde hair and green clothes), Hero Set can fix that. These items change the player’s original hair to resemble Link’s.

  • Character creation: Blonde scruffy hair, white pants, brown boots, green clothes.
  • Cosmetics: Hero Set is the basis of this Terraria character idea.
  • Main weapon/armor: You can use various wooden bows and long swords. A Beam Sword would look nice, for example. Pearlwood Bow can be a nice option for a ranged character. Huntress Armor can serve as a nice replacement before you get these vanity items.

3. Leatherface/Manhunt

There are several horror movies and games where you have a rampaging killer with a pig’s mask. The first association would be Leatherface, from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Piggsy from Manhunt wore something similar.

When you kill a chainsaw-wielding enemy called Butcher (a reference to these psycho killers), you get Butcher’s collection. You can use these vanity items for one of the best Terraria character ideas.

  • Character creation: Just about anything can work. Ideally, try to make your character as gruesome as possible.
  • Cosmetics: Butcher’s Set is a must.
  • Main weapon/armor: Unfortunately, there are no chainsaws in the game. Instead, you can go with something like Psycho Knife or Bloody Machete. Our favorite choice of weapon is the Ham Bat, giving the character a bit comical appearance.

4. Pork Lover

If you like meat as much as we do, you’ll also love this collection of items. Pork Lover revolves around Ham Bat, coupled with Butcher’s Set or Chef’s collection. It’s a completely ridiculous concept that you have to try, at least for a bit.

  • Character creation: You can go with just about any character’s appearance. Ideally, you should wear white clothes, so they resemble an apron.
  • Cosmetics: Butcher’s Set or Chef’ Set.
  • Main weapon/armor: Ham Bat.

5. Gentleman’s Slap

If you wish to try some of the most ridiculous Terraria character ideas, you should get Slap Hand. You can couple this meme weapon with just about anything creating an absurd effect. It has the highest knockback in the game, pushing enemies to the end of the screen. Be warned; the weapon is extremely weak, so you’ll struggle if you wish to go with this theme.

  • Character creation: As long as the character looks clean and neat, it should be good enough.
  • Cosmetics: Tuxedo Set and Wedding Set are perfect for this type of character. Clown, Princess, Royal, Tax Collector’s, Star Princess, Fabulous (available on certain platforms), and George’s (available on certain platforms) are sets that can also work well.
  • Main weapon/armor: Slap Hand is the focal point of the theme. You can also go with Classy Cane, although the effect is nowhere near as cool. As for the equipment, Dark Artist Armor can work great until you get a proper vanity collection.

6. Captain America

This build revolves around Sergeant United Shield, a Hardmode boomerang that is the exact replica of Captain America’s shield. Although you might think that this weapon would go best with the Superhero vanity set, this isn’t entirely true. Instead, we’d suggest that you avoid vanity collections altogether and go with some of the badass armors. For example, Cobalt Armor looks good for this particular theme.

  • Character creation: Blonde wavy hair and blue outfit.
  • Cosmetics: Superhero Set is the best option in terms of vanity items. However, I’d avoid it altogether as it does not fit the Captain America theme.
  • Main weapon/armor: Cobalt Armor works the best. You can also try something like Sapphire Robe or Mystic Robe.

7. Eddard Stark

Winter Cape looks similar to the cape that Sean Bean wore during his brief appearance in Game of Thrones. You can use it for Eddard Stark Terraria cosplay. Just make sure that the character wears black clothing over the rest of his body. Also, it’s much better if the player doesn’t wear any helmet so you can see his long luscious hair.

  • Character creation: Long brown hair with a short beard and black clothes.
  • Cosmetics: Winter Cape is a must for this theme. Ideally, your face should be uncovered. As for the legs, you can go with common dark pants.
  • Main weapon/armor: You can use just about any big sword for this character idea. However, we think it’s best if you go with Titanium Sword or perhaps even Zenith.

8. Alien

Space Creature Set is more than an obvious reference to Alien movies. The vanity set is brilliant, and you can use it for one of the best Terraria character ideas. All you have to do is find appropriate weapons that’ll make it look as if you are spitting acid at opponents.

  • Character creation: You can go with anything.
  • Cosmetics: Space Creature Set is a must. Nothing else will work, whether we are talking about other cosmetics or regular equipment.
  • Main weapon/armor: The best weapon for this theme is Venus Magnum, as it leaves a green trail resembling Alien’s spit. Terra Blade creates a similar effect, although we don’t like the animation includes green swords. Toxikarp is another nice weapon for the theme, creating acidic bubbles. Lastly, you can also go with Toxic Flask.

9. Rainbow Party

If you like to create awesome effects on the screen, you should try going with the Rainbow Party theme. As the name implies, you need one of the three rainbow weapons available in the game to pull off this idea. It’s a silly idea that scales well into the late game.

  • Character creation: You can go with anything.
  • Cosmetics: Unicorn Set is the obvious choice for the Rainbow Party theme. However, we also like how Capricorn Set looks with these weapons.
  • Main weapon/armor: For this idea to work, you need to get Rainbow Gun, Rainbow Rod, or Rainbow Crystal Staff. If you cannot find any of the previously mentioned vanity sets, you can also go with Nebula Armor. Although this collection of items does not come close to wearing Unicorn Set, it is a nice replacement until you get it.

10. Busy Bee

Busy Bee is one of the easiest Terraria character ideas to assemble. You can get all parts of Bee Set pre-Hardmode by killing Queen Bee several times. You also can choose between two different bee-themed weapons, one of which is available relatively early.

  • Character creation: You can go with anything, although we’d recommend having yellow or black skin so that it fits the colors of a bee.
  • Cosmetics: Bee Set includes a hat, a shirt, and pants. If you wish to tinker a bit, you can replace the hat with Queen Bee Mask making you look even more like a bee.
  • Main weapon/armor: The two main bee-themed weapons in the game are Bee Gun and Wasp Gun. There are also Beenades, but, as they are consumables, you won’t have them all the time.

12 Best Terraria Vanity Sets https://avidgamer.gg/terraria-vanity-sets/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=terraria-vanity-sets Sat, 03 Sep 2022 08:40:37 +0000 https://avidgamer.gg/?p=1085 More...]]> Vanity sets in Terraria are perfect for modifying your character and increasing the fun.

Unlike other games, where cosmetic sets are store-bought items, Terraria’s creators decided to give out this equipment for free. When playing the game, you can get all sorts of incredible outfits that improve your character’s appearance.

In this listicle, we’ll recommend the best vanity sets that’ll significantly improve your Terraria experience.

12 Best Terraria vanity sets

1. Karate Tortoise Set

Karate Tortoise Set is a reference to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The vanity items significantly change your character’s appearance, making you look much bulkier. Interestingly enough, you can only get Leonardo’s mask in the collection. Male and female variants are entirely the same.

Karate Tortoise Set is perfect for melee characters wielding slashing swords. It also feels suitable for players who use shurikens, throwing knives, and other ninja items.

How to Get:

  • Goodie Bag (available during the Halloween event) – 5.26% drop chance

2. Space Creature Set

We’re major fans of Alien movies, so it makes sense to add this collection to the list. The Space Creature Mask is impressive, making it look as if your head is much longer than it actually is. The vanity set is fantastic if you decide to use some of the toxic weapons or weapons that leave a green trail.

How to get:

  • Goodie Bag (available during the Halloween event) – 5.26% drop chance

3. Timeless Traveler’s set

A unique thing about Timeless Traveler’s Set is that you can only acquire it in a corrupted world. As you move around, small blue souls encircle your outfit. The outfit was added as a part of Journey’s End Vanity Contest, which featured some of the best cosmetics in the game.

How to Get (all pieces are created at Loom):

Timeless Traveler’s Cloak

  • Silk (20)
  • Rotten Chunk (10)
  • Black Dye

Timeless Traveler’s Footwear

  • Silk (20)
  • Rotten Chunk (10)
  • Black Dye

Timeless Traveler’s Hood

  • Silk (20)
  • Bone (10)

4. Plaguebringer’s set

Plaguebringer’s Set is another set added after Journey’s End Vanity Contest. It represents the crimson counterpart of Timeless Traveler’s collection, which uses Vertebra instead of Rotten Chunks. Similar to Timeless Traveler, Plaguebringer has souls emanating from the cloak. These spirits can change their color depending on the dye color that you used for the cloak recipe.

Acquiring the Plaguebringer’s Set (all pieces are created at Loom):

Plaguebringer’s Cloak

  • Silk (20)
  • Vertebra (10)
  • Black Dye

Plaguebringer’s Treads

  • Silk (20)
  • Vertebra (10)
  • Black Dye

Plaguebringer’s Skull

  • Vertebra (10)
  • Bone (10)

5. Dr. Man Fly Set

Dr. Man Fly Set is something you can only get in Hardmode after being Plantera. Each of the pieces drops from Dr. Man Fly, an enemy who appears during the Solar Eclipse event. This outfit is a reference to the 1958 movie “The Fly,” and it looks different from anything else in the game. The vanity set is especially cool if you are using sci-fi weapons.

How to Get:

  • Dr. Man Fly (available during the Solar Eclipse event) – 3.96% drop chance

6. Robot Set

Robot is another noticeably different cosmetic that changes how your player looks, concealing his or her face. When you put on a Robot Shirt, the character lifts his arms up while walking, so they are horizontal to the ground. Like the previous outfit, the Robot is perfect for characters wielding futuristic weapons.

How to Get:

  • Goodie Bag (available during the Halloween event) – 5.26% drop chance

7. Mushroom Set

The Mushroom outfit is an obvious Toad reference from the Mario franchise. The outfit is the same for male and female players, and it is recognizable because of the oversized mushroom that you wear instead of a hat. The cool thing about these pieces is that you can get them relatively quickly in the game during pre-Hardmode. Furthermore, they are common.

How to Get:

  • Mushroom Chests (Caverns, Glowing Mushroom biome) – 3.33% drop chance

8. Rain Set

The interesting thing about the Rain collection is that it only has two pieces. This equipment is used differently depending on the platform on which you are playing Terraria. On PC, mobile, and most consoles, it is classified as armor, which forces you to wear it in armor slots. When playing the game on 3DS and Windows Phone, these items are classified as vanity cosmetics, and you wear them in social slots.

No matter the case, Rain does not provide any stats. This puts it in the same category as Snow Armor, Pink Snow Armor, and Angler Armor.

How to Get:

  • Raincoat Zombie (any surface area, night, rain) – 5% drop chance

9. Martian Set

The Martian is one of the rarer vanity collections in the game. You can get it during the Martian Madness event that can only occur after you beat Golem. We love using this outfit with various futuristic launchers and guns.

How to Get:

  • Gigazapper, Martian Engineer, or Martian Officer (available during the Martian Madness event) – 0.5% drop chance

10. Reaper Set

The Reaper is one of the best Terraria vanity sets. The specific thing about this outfit is that it comes with a weapon skin. In other words, your robe has a scythe attached to it that you always carry around when the piece is equipped. Even when you use your weapon, you can still see the scythe.

How to Get:

  • Goodie Bag (available during the Halloween event) – 5.26% drop chance

11. Horned God Set

While wearing the Horned God Set, a character’s hands will always be placed on his/her hips. The outfit is a reference to “Age of Wonders,” a popular turn-based strategy. You can get the collection later on in the game, and you will have to grind different mechanical bosses for each of the parts.

How to Get:

  • Skeleton Prime (Hardmode boss, drops the Horned God Mask) – 14.29% drop chance
  • The Destroyer (Hardmode boss, drops the Horned God Robe) – 14.29% drop chance
  • The Twins (Hardmode boss, drops the Horned God Boots) – 14.29% drop chance

12. Hero Set

The Hero Set is a reference to Zelda’s Link. The outfit has a few unique features, such as changing a character’s hair while wearing it. The collection is relatively easy to acquire and is considered one of the most popular Terraria vanity sets within the community.

How to Get (all pieces are created at Loom):

Hero’s Hat

  • Silk (20)
  • Green Thread (3)

Hero’s Pants

  • Silk (20)
  • Green Thread (3)

Hero’s Shirt

  • Silk (20)
  • Green Thread (3)

Hero Armor: A Nice Vanity Set to Look Like Link https://avidgamer.gg/hero-armor-a-nice-vanity-set-to-look-like-link/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=hero-armor-a-nice-vanity-set-to-look-like-link Thu, 25 Aug 2022 15:17:55 +0000 https://avidgamer.gg/?p=735 More...]]> Overview

The Hero Armor is a set of vanity items (vanity items are items used only to change appearance, they don’t give any stats or effects). The set is composed of the Hero’s Hat, the Hero’s Shirt, and the Hero’s Pants.

The set’s color is green on all versions except on the Old-gen console version and Windows Phone version as it’s purple on these versions.

Hero Armor Terraria

You can craft one piece of the set with 20 Silks and 3 Green Threads (on 3DS, Old-gen console, and Windows Phone it requires 3 Purple Threads instead). It means crafting a full set requires 60 Silks and 9 Green Threads, so 420 Cobwebs and 27 Jungle Grass Seeds (or Mushroom Grass Seeds on the versions requiring Purple Threads).

Get the Hero Armor easily

To get the Hero Armor, you need to farm a lot of Cobwebs and Jungle/Mushroom Grass Seeds. Gratefully, we have some tips to help you farm these resources.

To get a lot of Cobwebs, you can just explore the Underground as it is populated with a lot of Cobwebs alongside the edges of walls and ceilings. You will find them in clusters of 5 or more. Another way to get a lot of Cobwebs is to go to Spider Caves. Here you will find large quantities of Cobwebs but they don’t drop every time you break them. There is only a 25% chance to drop when broken but as there are a lot of Cobwebs it’s not a problem. Just be careful because enemies found here can be dangerous (Wall Creepers in pre-hardmode and Black Recluses in hardmode).

Once you get Cobwebs, you will have to farm seeds. Jungle Grass Seeds have a 1% chance to drop when you cut any plant growing on Jungle Grass. You can try to go to the Jungle and cut every plant you come across using any tool, but you won’t get a lot of Jungle Grass Seeds. The fastest way is to use Flower Boots (you can find these boots in Jungle Shrine chests) so that plants keep growing around you and you can cut them indefinitely until you get your seeds.

If you’re playing on the Old-gen console version or Windows Phone version you will have to farm Mushroom Grass Seeds instead of Jungle Grass Seeds. To get these seeds, you have to harvest Glowing Mushrooms. Every Glowing Mushroom harvested has a 2% chance to drop a Jungle Mushroom Seed. Another way to get Jungle Mushroom Seeds is to build a house in a Glowing Mushroom Biome and to install the Dryad here because she sells Glowing Mushroom Seeds when you speak to her in this biome.

You can’t use the Flower Boots trick for Mushroom Grass Seeds farming because they don’t make Glowing Mushroom spawn.

Trivia

  • The Hero Armor is a reference to the Legend of Zelda’s video game franchise protagonist, Link.
  • There are not a lot of sets in the game that seems to change the player’s hairstyle. The Hero Armor is one of them, along with the Robot Hat and the Lamia Mask.
  • There is also the Hero Shield in Terraria, but it is not part of the Hero Armor and it has nothing to do with Link. It’s just a post-Plantera accessory giving some bonuses.

How to Get an Aglet Fast in Terraria (Full Guide 2022) https://avidgamer.gg/terraria-aglet/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=terraria-aglet Wed, 20 Jul 2022 14:00:43 +0000 https://avidgamer.gg/?p=76 More...]]>

Traveling is one of the main things you’ll do in Terraria because it’s the most effective way to gather items. Although you’ll encounter bosses that drop awesome spoils of battle, it’s instinctive to roam your world and settle later.

Among things you should consider, your early-game journey must focus on how much area you can cover within a limited time. You’ll need extra speed for your travels, and the Aglet can give you that boost. Although its stats aren’t that much, we’ll teach you how to get it and why you should use it.

Aglet – Overview

Aglet is one of many straightforward accessories in Terraria. It gives you +5% movement speed when worn. Moreover, your base 15 mph is converted to 16mph, which may not be a big deal, but it’s better than nothing.

Combining this accessory with the Anklet of the Wind better optimizes its utility. If you’re running a Marathon or want some exploring, here’s your cue.

How to Get the Aglet?

Since this item is common, you can find it everywhere in Terraria. The highest chance you can find an Aglet is through Chests (8.33%), followed by Pearlwood Crate and Wooden Crate (0.44%).

Note that a more serious difficulty increases its spawn rate, specifically up to 12.5% with Master Mode.

Item Upgrade

You’ll make Lightning Boots with an Aglet alongside Anklet of the Wind and Spectre Boots at the Tinkerer’s Workshop. It offers an 8% movement speed bonus (from 15mph to 34mph) and has similar utility to the used crafting materials.

Terraria: Getting the Shark Tooth Necklace (Full Guide 2022) https://avidgamer.gg/how-to-get-shark-tooth-necklace-full-guide/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-get-shark-tooth-necklace-full-guide Fri, 15 Jul 2022 03:45:48 +0000 https://avidgamer.gg/?p=66 More...]]>

Most mechanical bosses in Terraria absorb tons of damage before succumbing to the final blow. It’s frustrating to shoot and swing weapons, waste ammo, and get one hit killed by the entity after all the effort. It’ll be a long journey ahead until you have the best weapons and gears.

High defense guarantees damage reduction, but what if you can slice through their thick hides? The Shark Tooth Necklace functions as that, and we’ll tell you how to get this essential equipment!

Shark Tooth Necklace – Overview

The Shark Tooth Necklace is a piece of equipment that grants you +5 Armor Penetration to all enemies. It’s effective when paired with the Minishark and Bee Gun as they have high fire rates but are low damage weapons. The necklace compensates for an additional armor-piercing effect, making it reliable when contending against Skeletron in pre-Hardmode.

How to Get the Shark Tooth Necklace?

Blood Zombies and Dripplers drop this equipment upon killing them during the Blood Moon. An initial 0.67% chance is guaranteed on the pre-Hardmode difficulty and 1.33% on Hardmode.

Strategically, consider using a Water Candle or consuming a Battle Potion to increase the monster spawning rate. It’ll be bloodshed before getting the rare item!

Item Upgrade

A Shark Tooth Necklace with Honey Comb (1) at the Tinkerer’s Shop will create the Stinger Necklace. It’s similar to its predecessor but with one to three bees that protect you when attacked and Honey Buff that increases life regeneration.

Equipping the two will grant +10 Armor Penetration, which makes slicing through your enemies’ hides easier.
