Different types of ores play many essential roles in Terraria. For instance, its pure form (bars) can become tools for resource-gathering and weapons for combat. Of course, you’ll need the right crafting station to do so.
With all things ores and metal bars, Anvil is your go-to place. This guide will teach you everything about the crafting station, its types, and the different things you can craft!
Anvil – Overview
An Anvil is a crafting station for making different types of armor, tools, and weapons. It’s one of the most indispensable items in Terraria as it makes your journey self-sustainable.
We recommend placing the Anvil on solid blocks or platforms with proper spacing of 2×1 tiles.
Extra Note: The Anvil is classified as furniture. However, it won’t necessarily fulfill the NPC housing requirement for flat surfaces. Moreover, even items are non-placeable!
You can get two achievements with the crafting station: Heavy Metal and Blacksmith. The former is acquirable by obtaining your first Iron Anvil or Lead Anvil. The latter is unlockable in later gameplay upon crafting 300 items.
Different Types of Anvils
There are four types of Anvils in Terraria:
- Lead
- Iron
- Mythril
- Orichalcum
The first two are available on pre-Hardmode only. The same can be said for Mythril or Orichalcum. In functionality, each counterpart functions similarly.
Iron Anvil costs Silver Coins (50) from the Merchant or looted inside Underground Cabins. However, Lead Anvil won’t naturally spawn as opposed to its counterpart, although Lead Ore is present in the world.
