Everything you need to know

General Information

The Wooden Boomerang is a type of thrown melee weapon that returns to the player after damaging an enemy (non-piercing), traveling for 14 tiles away, or hitting a solid object. It is the predecessor of the Enchanted Boomerang and the weakest type in the same weapon category.

When normally used, the Wooden Boomerang will not emit light. It also phases through any type of block when returning to the user. The Wooden Boomerang can also squeeze through one-block-wide gaps at the right range. When used on liquids, the Wooden Boomerang’s travel speed and range drastically decrease.

The Wooden Boomerang has the slowest projectile travel out of all Boomerang variants.

It is a general rule to aim above enemies for unlimited piercing when using the Wooden Boomerang. This unique property is possible thanks to all Boomerang’s capability of phasing through walls. One can easily handle a wave of weak enemies and deal decent knockback with the Wooden Boomerang.

At the right range, enemies will receive two consecutive damage as the Wooden Boomerang goes to the target and back to the player. Damaging enemies on both ends of a wall is also possible when executed at the right position and range. This unique property makes the Wooden Boomerang pass through walls unhinged while keeping hostiles at bay.

The Wooden Boomerang can be partnered with any backup weapon if the thrown weapon is still traveling midair. Alternatively, the player could just get in close range and land consecutive attacks, as the weapon’s use time is determined once the boomerang returns.

Since the Wooden Boomerang is a melee weapon, some accessories, all flasks, and armor can enhance its travel range, flight speed, and apply flask-related buffs.

The Wooden Boomerang being the weakest type signifies its usage is limited in the earliest Pre-Hardmode until the player can craft an Enchanted Boomerang.

The Wooden Boomerang is best modified with Godly or Demonic, providing a wide array of stats improvement.
