Everything you need to know

General Information

The Possessed Hatchet is a type of thrown melee weapon that returns to the player after damaging an enemy (non-piercing), traveling for 25 tiles away, or hitting a solid object. The Possessed Hatchet can spawn unlimited projectiles, is capable of autofire (desktop, mobile, console), and homes to enemy NPCs (hostile players not included).

In desktop, mobile, console, the Possessed Hatchet cannot be stacked but can still be quickly fired. In 3DS, old-gen consoles, the weapon acts as a singular weapon and only throws one hatchet at a time.

When normally used, the Possessed Hatchet will emit light, making the players see a little better in the dark. It also phases through any type of block when returning to the user. The Possessed Hatchet can also squeeze through one-block-wide gaps at the right range. When used on liquids, the Possessed Hatchet’s travel speed and range drastically decrease.

It is a general rule to aim above enemies for unlimited piercing when using the Possessed Hatchet. This unique property is possible thanks to all Boomerang’s capability of phasing through walls. One can easily handle a wave of extremely strong enemies and deal decent knockback with the Possessed Hatchet.

Since the Possessed Hatchet is a melee weapon, some accessories, all flasks, and armor can enhance its travel range, flight speed, and apply flask-related buffs.

If the player dies during combat with the Possessed Hatchet traveling midair, it will continue to fly above the death point. The weapon will return to the respawned player afterward.

Generally, the Possessed Hatchet is great against tanky enemies, like Crawltipedes and Duke Fishron. It is also a viable option when going against segmented worms.

The Possessed Hatchet is best modified with Godly or Demonic, providing a wide array of stats improvement.
