Everything you need to know

General Information

The Flamarang is a type of thrown melee weapon that returns to the player after damaging an enemy (non-piercing), traveling for 28 tiles away, or hitting a solid object. Upon contact, the Flamarang inflicts the On Fire! debuff for 3s (50% (desktop, mobile, console) / 20% (3DS, old-gen consoles)). It is considered the strongest Boomerang in Pre-Hardmode.

When normally used, the Flamarang will emit light, making the players see better in the dark. It also phases through any type of block when returning to the user. The Flamarang can also squeeze through one-block-wide gaps at the right range. When used on liquids, the Flamarang’s travel speed and range drastically decrease.

It is a general rule to aim above enemies for unlimited piercing when using the Flamarang. This unique property is possible thanks to all Boomerang’s capability of phasing through walls. One can easily handle a wave of slightly strong enemies and deal excellent knockback with the Flamarang.

Damaging enemies on both ends of a wall is possible when executed at the right position and range. This unique property makes the Flamarang pass through walls unhinged while keeping hostiles at bay.

The Flamarang can be partnered with any backup weapon if the thrown weapon is still traveling midair. Alternatively, the player could just get in close range and land consecutive attacks, as the weapon’s use time is determined once the boomerang returns.

Since the Flamarang is a melee weapon, some accessories, all flasks, and armor can enhance its travel range, flight speed, and apply flask-related buffs.

When facing the Queen Bee, the Flamarang could quickly devastate the Jungle boss and its Bees because of the spreading On Fire! debuff.

The Flamarang is best modified with Godly or Demonic, providing a wide array of stats improvement.
