Everything you need to know
General Information
The Thorn Chakram is a type of thrown melee weapon that returns to the player after damaging an enemy (non-piercing), traveling for 29 tiles away, ricocheting for two consecutive times, or hitting a solid object. Upon contact, the Thorn Chakram inflicts the Poisoned debuff for 7s (50% (desktop, mobile, console) / 20% (3DS, old-gen consoles)).
When normally used, the Thorn Chakram will not emit light. It also phases through any type of block when returning to the user. The Thorn Chakram can also squeeze through one-block-wide gaps at the right range, which is extremely tricky. Once succeeded, however, the boomerang will infinitely bounce before returning to the thrower. When used on liquids, the Thorn Chakram’s travel speed and range drastically decrease.
It is a general rule to aim above enemies for unlimited piercing when using the Thorn Chakram. This unique property is possible thanks to all Boomerang’s capability of phasing through walls. One can easily handle a wave of slightly strong enemies and deal high knockback with the Thorn Chakram.
At the right range, enemies will receive two consecutive damage as the Thorn Chakram goes to the target and back to the player. Damaging enemies on both ends of a wall is also possible when executed at the right position and range. This unique property makes the Thorn Chakram pass through walls unhinged while keeping hostiles at bay.
The Thorn Chakram can be partnered with any backup weapon if the thrown weapon is still traveling midair. Alternatively, the player could just get in close range and land consecutive attacks, as the weapon’s use time is determined once the boomerang returns.
Since the Thorn Chakram is a melee weapon, some accessories, all flasks, and armor can enhance its travel range, flight speed, and apply flask-related buffs.
In a more extensive combat situation, players will find the Thorn Chakram indispensable against tanky enemies because of its debuff infliction upon contact.
The Thorn Chakram is best modified with Godly or Demonic, providing a wide array of stats improvement.
