Terraria (Wiki): Tragic Umbrella
Everything you need to know
General Information
The Tragic Umbrella is a melee weapon that pierces enemies and functions like the standard Umbrella, except for dealing with higher melee damage.
The Tragic Umbrella is a held object that hovers above the character and makes it possible for them to fall more slowly than usual. When compared to the Umbrella, The Tragic Umbrella is lacking. By the time it becomes available (after defeating Skeletron), players typically already have an accessory that reduces fall damage or a standard umbrella, and there are many post-Skeletron weapons with higher damage. A Tragic Umbrella cannot autoswing. Its attack reaches four tiles in radius. At an optimal distance, the Tragic Umbrella can pierce two enemies. However, multiple bodies will be damaged should they all line up for the player.
When normally used, the Tragic Umbrella will not emit light, and attacks do not go through walls. The player's fall is no longer slowed for the duration of the attack when using the Umbrella to attack while in midair.
Combat-wise, the Tragic Umbrella deals higher base damage than the Umbrella, making it effective in fighting enemies with low health. All Flask items will imbue their unique effects since the Tragic Umbrella is a melee weapon.
The Tragic Umbrella is best modified with Legendary for overall stats improvement.
