General Information

The Wooden Sword is a melee weapon that pierces enemies and is the weakest of the seven wooden swords.

The Wooden Sword is regarded as an improvement over the Copper Shortsword due to its greater damage and broadsword arc motion. The player can keep producing Wooden Swords until they get the desired modifier due to its low crafting cost. A Wooden Sword cannot autoswing. Its attack reaches two tiles in radius. At an optimal distance, the Wooden Sword can pierce two enemies. However, multiple bodies will be damaged should they all line up for the player..

When normally used, the Wooden Sword will not emit light, and the attacks do not go through walls. It has the weakest damage making it less effective against waves of enemies and bosses.

Combat-wise, the Wooden Sword's base damage makes it effective in one-on-one combat against weaker opponents. All Flask items will imbue their unique effects since the Wooden Sword is a melee weapon.

The Wooden Sword is best modified with Legendary for overall stats improvement.

How to get the Wooden Sword

At a Workbench, craft Wood (7) to create a Wooden Sword. Newly created characters all start with a Wooden Sword rather than a Copper Shortsword (3DS). It can be crafted as early as Pre-Hardmode.
