General Information

The Cobalt Sword is a Hardmode broadsword that lies at the lowest tier of Hardmode ore swords. It is less potent than its alternate ore counterpart because of lower damage output, weak knockback, and lower use time.

Of all the Hardmode Ore swords, the Copper Sword has the fastest speed, yet it has a shorter use time than the other Hardmode Ore swords. It should be used in small-scale combat contrary to large waves most swords can handle.

Skipping the Cobalt Sword may be a good idea due to its weak stats compared to Phasesabers and the Night's Edge because it only has slightly higher knockback to Phasesabers and a faster use time, although the Night's Edge's only drawback is its difficult crafting.

The Cobalt Sword blends in with the "Feudal Asia" aesthetic of other Cobalt armor and weapons and has a striking resemblance to the Japanese Katana and the Muramasa.

The Cobalt Sword can only be obtained in Hardmode.

The Cobalt Sword is best modified with Legendary to improve all stats.

How to get the Cobalt Sword

At an Iron Anvil or Lead Anvil, craft Cobalt Bar (8) (desktop, mobile, console) / Cobalt Bar (10) (old-gen consoles, 3DS) to create a Cobalt Sword. It can be crafted only after reaching Hardmode.
