General Information
The Blood Butcherer is a Pre-Hardmode metal broadsword that performs a medium-ranged swinging motion in an arc, damaging enemies behind and in front of the player. Upon enemy contact, the Blood Butcherer (100%) will inflict the Blood Butchered debuff for 9s. It is the Crimson counterpart of the Light’s Bane, having more reach and damage at the expense of slower use time.
Two enemies can be pierced at a normal range, although an infinite amount is possible should they line up. The Blood Butcherer also has a medium reach of five tiles radius. It is incapable of autoswing.
The Blood Butcherer is a key substitute ingredient in crafting the Night’s Edge.
Some weapons emit light while also being capable of inflicting damage against enemies behind a cover. While its counterpart - the Light’s Bane - can do the latter, the Blood Butcherer can neither do both.
Of all Broadswords, the Blood Butcherer is one of two variants with the weakest knockback.
Since the Blood Butcherer can swing above the player, it is viable for flying and jumping enemies. The resulting damage can also be enhanced by consuming any Flask type.
By applying the Legendary modifier, the Blood Butcherer will experience improved stats for the following:

How to get the Blood Butcherer
At an Iron Anvil or Lead Anvil, bring Crimtane Bar (10) to create the Blood Butcherer. It can be crafted as early as Pre-Hardmode.
