The player fighting the Deerclops

Terraria has had several crossovers with popular titles like Dungeon Defenders and Don’t Starve for many years. Re-logic’s overall action adds more gameplay hours, including unique items like the Houndius Shootius and the Sky Dragon’s Fury.

Although unpopular to some players, the Deerclops earned its name in Terraria for being an optional boss in Pre-Hardmode. But how do you summon it by force? This guide will cover just that, so read on if you want to defeat the entity.

Who is Deerclops?

Deerclops is a Pre-Hardmode boss in Terraria from the game Don’t Starve. You can skip it, but you’ll get decent items to prepare to fight the Wall of Flesh. There are two ways you can summon the monster:

1. Craft a Deer Thing

The Deer Thing in Terraria
Items NeededCrafting Station
Demonite Ore (5) / Crimtane Ore (5)
Flinx Fur (3)
Lens (1)
Demon Altar / Crimson Altar

In a Pre-Hardmode world, Demonite and Crimtane Ores are rare unless you challenge the Eye of Cthulhu, Brain of Cthulhu, or Eater of Worlds. You may use Bombs to mine respective Ore veins, although they rarely appear.

Snow Flinxes always drop 1 to 3 Flinx Furs once you take them down. You can find them in the Snow biome.

As for the Lens, Demon Eyes and Wandering Eyes have a 33% chance of dropping the ingredient upon death.

Head down to your respective Underground evil biome to craft the Deer Thing with all ingredients on your Inventory.

You can use this consumable boss-summoning item exclusively on Ice or Snow biome at any time of the day.

2. Wait for the Boss to Spawn

The player waiting for the Deerclops in Terraria

Alternatively, you can sit back and relax while waiting for the Deerclops to summon in your world. Here are several criteria to consider:

  • Go to a surface Snow or Ice biome and wait for midnight with a blizzard occurring.
  • Don’t build Towns within a 240×135 tile radius. Friendly NPCs aren’t welcome.
  • Consume Life Crystals until you reach 200 HP.
  • Wear armor sets that give at least 9 total Defense.
  • Except for the Blood Moon, there should be no events or a Boss fight happening.

Note that in Don’t dig up and Get fixed boi world seeds, the boss will spawn on the True Surface. Meaning you should dig up, although you’ll need more preparation since evil biomes are rampant up top.

After defeating the Deerclops for the first time, it’ll only have a 25% chance to spawn naturally.

The boss has one eye on each hand, one on the head, and a core on its chest. Each of these parts has health bars to deplete. Although it has multiple parts, only the eyes are responsible for its attacks. Not to worry! Each attack is in a set pattern, so it’s possible to learn each attack with multiple attempts.

The attacks are in this arrangement before any eye is defeated:

  • Hand Phantasmal Eyes
  • Hand Phantasmal Spheres
  • Hand Phantasmal Bolts
  • Mouth Tentacle and Moon Leech Clots
  • Head Phantasmal Deathray
  • Head Phantasmal Bolts

Once one or more eyes have been defeated, a True Eye of Cthulhu will spawn for each slain. These are its attack patterns:

Summoning Moon Lord

Celestial pillar
Celestial Pillar

The start of your journey to defeat this foe begins with the Lunatic Cultist. To spawn this boss, you must be in Hardmode and defeat all Mechanical bosses, Plantera and Golem. After all of that is settled, you must now locate the Dungeon. Once found, you will find an NPC where you must curse and defeat Skeletron. Skeletron can only be summoned at night, so keep this in mind.

You have done all the prerequisite tasks and must wait for the Cultists to spawn in the same Dungeon. To summon the Lunatic Cultist, All you need to do is slay the NPCs. All you need to do now is defeat him and proceed to the next step.

Once he is defeated, your world will summon the Celestial Pillars. These are four bosses that are spread out across the map. These spawn creatures are unique to each Pillar in large numbers. Slaying them is essential as it will deplete the boss’s shield, making it possible to defeat them. Defeating these is the last step in summoning the Moon Lord.

These are the stats for each Pillar:

Max Life: 20000
Defense: 20
Knockback Resist: 100%
Immune to All Debuffs except Whip debuffs

Tshe last Pillar has been slain, and you must now prepare as the Moon Lord will spawn in one minute. Will you survive its wrath?

Preparations

Now you know how to summon him; you must know what to prepare for! Being almost at the apex of Terraria, you now have access to the best of the best when it comes to equipment.

This guide will cover one optimal set per Class and the Accessories you’ll need for the fight.

Melee

One of the more challenging roles in the game must be the Melee Class. Although having a rough start in the early game, late-game items make up for the weaknesses of this Class. Arming yourself with the melee can offer is essential for your survival!

Here is the equipment set you’ll need:

  • Beetle Armor Set
  • Solar Eruption
  • Possessed Hatchet
  • Flairon
  • The Eye of Cthulhu
  • Scourge of the Corruptor
  • Stardust Cell Staff
  • Stardust Dragon Staff

Pairing these weapons with Stardust Cell allows you to have consistent and controlled damage with non-piercing weapons. Although Stardust Dragon has more potential damage and a cool dragon, using it with a piercing weapon makes controlled damage a challenge.

Magic

Magic users are in luck, as their damage output is at its peak. Assuming you have the necessary Accessories to increase damage, the odds might not be stacked against you. Like the Melee Class, you have a variety of weapons to choose from based on your playstyle. As a master of the mystic arts, these items will carry you through this encounter!

These are what you’ll need:

  • Spectre Armor
  • Razorblade Typhoon
  • Nebula Blaze
  • Blizzard Staff
  • Stardust Dragon Staff

Switching between these recommended items is the key to defeating the Moon Lord. Razorblade Typhoon is essential for consistent damage as their mana consumption is manageable for continuous casting. For the later stages of the fight, switching to the Nebula Blaze for more DPS is advantageous after taking out all eyes to finish the Moon Lord. Be warned that Nebula Blaze chews through your mana considerably, so use it only when necessary.

Blizzard Staff is a viable item to target the head eye of the boss when you decide to build the arena with a roof. The best Summoner item to pair with this loadout is the Stardust Dragon, as the Magic build has better-controlled damage due to the nature of the weapons.

Ranger

Do you prefer guns and bows to challenge the Moon Lord? Well, the Ranger Class has all that you want! This Class has a more straightforward approach to its weapon choices. Your main DPS stems from the ammunition that you bring to the fight. But as much as your ammo is important, your weapon choice is as valuable to output the maximum damage.

  • Shroomite Armor
  • Vortex Beater
  • Phantasm
  • Endless Quiver
  • Chlorophyte Bullets

Vortex Beater is the king of Pre-Moon Lord guns, as its stats and effects are optimal. Aiming is a thing of the past! If you pair it up with Chlorophyte Bullets, your attacks will home in on your target. A neat part about this gun is that there’s a 66% chance of not consuming ammunition. With this effect, you don’t need to worry about running out of ammo in the thick of the fight.

If bows are your preferred choice, the Phantasm is perfect for your needs! Like its gun counterpart, it also has a 66% chance of not consuming arrows. Paired up with an Endless Quiver, shooting this bow is a breeze! Pairing it with other arrows with debuffs to enemies is also viable as it will only consume one ammunition per four arrows shot, ensuring maximum damage.

Summoner

As the Class might suggest, summoning minions to do your damage is the name of the game! Summoners are not limited to options on weapons they might want to utilize. Being able to use different weapons from other Classes is the true strength of a Summoner.

An optimal example for this Class is as follows:

  • Tiki Armor
  • Spooky Armor
  • Stardust Dragon Staff
  • Vortex Beater
  • Endless Musket Pouch

With this Class, Summoners can opt for more damage through Spooky Armor or defense and an extra minion with Tiki Armor. Either way, both are good options. As for a secondary weapon, any items from other Classes are viable to wield. The Class is not limited to just your summons, so take advantage of that ability to use another weapon while your minions deal consistent damage.

Accessories

Equipment is a vital part of any Class, but so are Accessories! These items make the fight easier by granting stats or abilities to better tank, dodge, or damage the boss.

You may use any combination of items to suit your playstyle. But this guide will discuss the Accessories that are optimal for the strategy that the guide will discuss later.

Main Accessories

These are the core items that are necessary for the Moon Lord fight:

  • Fishron Wings
  • Frostspark Boots
  • Ankh Shield
  • Cloud in a Balloon

It would be best if you went with Fishron Wings for wings, as it has the best stats against other alternatives. Frostspark Boots grant you much-needed movement speed to dodge and weave the boss’s attacks. Ankh Shield grants immunity to knockback, making it easier to bounce back when hit with any attack. Cloud in a Balloon allows you to double jump, which is useful for quick and precise air movement.

Apart from Fishron Wings and Frostspark Boots, you can replace these items with other Accessories to fit your playstyle for each Class.

Here are some examples of what Accessories you can utilize for each Class:

Melee

  • Celestial Cuffs
  • Celestial Emblem
  • Sorcerer’s Emblem
  • Mana Flower

Ranger

  • Sniper Scope
  • Magic Quiver
  • Ranger Emblem
  • Destroyer Emblem

Summoner

  • Papyrus Scarab
  • Necromantic Scroll
  • Hercules Beetle
  • Pygmy Necklace
  • Summoner Emblem

Defensive Options

Here are some defensive options to consider when preparing:

  • Frozen Turtle Shell
  • Worm Scarf
  • Master Ninja Gear

Mixing and matching your Accessories is key to finding your playstyle when you challenge this boss. Although some items are more useful than others, it’s a matter of preference in this part of preparation.

potions
Potions

Potions

You’ll need all the help you can get! Potions are the best way to increase stats when Accessories are not enough. There are essential Potions needed for maximum survival and some class specific to increase your damage and utility.

Here are the essential Potions for your character:

  • Ironskin Potion
  • Lifeforce Potion
  • Regeneration Potion
  • Endurance Potion
  • Swiftness Potion
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Super Healing Potion

Class-specific Potions are important too! Here are your options:

Melee

  • Flask of Cursed Flames

Magic

  • Mana Regeneration Potion
  • Magic Power Potion
  • Super Mana Potion

Ranger

  • Ammo Reservation Potion
  • Archery Potion

Summoner

  • Summoning Potion
  • Rage Potion
  • Wrath Potion

Furniture

Potions are not the only things that give buffs; some furniture can also give you the boost you’ll need! Here are some to consider placing:

  • Ammo Box
  • Crystal Ball
  • Sharpening Station
  • Bewitching Table

Arena

player in arena
Arena for Moon Lord

Lastly, and most importantly, the stage where you will duel this boss. The arena will make or break your fight with the Moon Lord. This part of preparation is the simplest to set up as you will only need a considerable amount of flat land to start.

Here are the steps to set up the arena:

  1. Flatten a large area that is at least 300 blocks wide.
  2. Cover the flat surface with Asphalt.
  3. Place a row of platforms across the surface 35 blocks above.
  4. Ten blocks above the platforms, Place a two-block thick row of ceiling. (you may use any block that you desire)
  5. Place Campfires and other buff items across the arena. (refer to furniture section)

Setting this up is a requirement, as it will make your fight consistent and easier than just summoning it straight without an arena.

Strategy

Grab everything you have and gather your forces; it’s time to face the beast. After an exhausting amount of preparation, this means nothing if you do not have a strategy when fighting the Moon Lord.

For reference, refer to the Overview for its attack patterns, as it will be essential for discussing strategy.

Pre-True Eye of Cthulhu Strategy

player fighting moon lord
Pre-True Eye of Cthulhu Fight

The boss starts with three eyes when summoned. These are your main targets to progress the fight. The attack patterns are consistent for the most part, so memorizing when he will launch each attack is vital for survival.

The first few attacks come in the form of Phantasmal Eyes on the left hand, then Phantasmal Spheres launch in a straight line on the same hand. While the attack pattern plays, Phantasmal Bolts will launch with the right hand. After this cycle, the boss spawns Phantasmal Eyes with the right hand. The head eye will now open and attack with a Phantasmal Deathray as the hand eyes attack with the same pattern.

Dodging the Spheres is as simple as running against the direction of the hand that spawns the attack. As it can only move downward, flying over the projectiles is your best way to dodge. Like the Spheres, the Eyes can only go downward, but you can counter it by standing at the surface as it will explode on contact. You also have to account for the Bolts fired by the other eye. Learning the timing is essential to reduce the damage taken.

After the first cycle of the three attacks, the second round will add a Deathray while the three attacks initiate. This is when the ceiling comes to play, as it will block the ray from hitting you. The head eye will shoot three rays while the hands will cycle with the same attacks.

After the Deathray cycle, it will finish with Bolts while the hands spawn their attacks quicker than usual. After that set is done, it will cycle the whole attack pattern again.

While all this is happening, he will attack you with a Tentacle that will link to you. It will spawn every few seconds. This’ll negate any life steal or regeneration from items and Armor sets for 14 seconds (16 in Expert Mode). It’ll also spawn Moon Leech Clots that travel from the player to the Moon Lord, healing him for 1000 health per Clot.

True Eye of Cthulhu Strategy

player fighting moon lord
True Eye of Cthulhu

Defeating any of the Eyes on the head or both hands results in spawning the True Eye of Cthulhu. This enemy has its own set of attacks and is invincible to damage, making the fight more difficult. Note that the eye socket of the respective part that has been defeated will inflict melee damage.

It starts by shooting Bolts at you, and after that, it will form Spheres that the enemy will launch downwards toward you. For the next attack, Cthulhu will spin around and spawn Eyes that will target you. After every Eye has been destroyed, it will cast a Deathray at the current position the player is at. The last of the attack cycle will be another round of Spheres. Once this pattern has been completed, it will cycle through these attacks until the Moon Lord is defeated.

The real challenge is that all True Eyes of Cthulhu are invincible to damage and can’t be killed until the boss is defeated. Juggling multiple attack cycles is quite the task, even if you have memorized its patterns. This is where the movement Accessories come into play. The Cloud in a Balloon will provide the much-needed double jump to dodge the Spheres that Cthulhu will fire as it will be clumped up instead of a straight line.

The optimal strategy to make the fight manageable is to time when to spawn the other True Eyes of Cthulhu. It is recommended that you defeat it right after a Cthulhu has finished its attack cycle to match the timing of its attacks. Once all of it spawns and has matching attack timings, the fight will be easier.

Spawning all the Eyes of Cthulhu will trigger the boss to expose its core. At this point, that’s the only thing you need to focus on to defeat the Moon Lord finally. It’s all a matter of dodging and timing your movement to dodge attacks.

Post Moon Lord

The beast has been slain! And you’re now in the endgame of Terraria! What’s a victory without the spoils of war? The boss is very generous with its rewards, making it a worthwhile effort.

Many bosses in Terraria appears whenever time and condition permits. Although the challenge is present, defeating them would mean a lot to your progress. That’s because there are rewards present, introducing you to better and stronger arsenal of weapons.

Aside from meeting specific requirements, contending another boss fight needs a summoning object. One of them is the Mechanical Worm. In this guide, we’ll introduce the item and what boss you can spawn. More importantly, we’ll help you craft or find one!

Mechanical Worm – Overview

This item is known to spawn the Hardmode version of the Eater of Worlds, The Destroyer. Since it’s another difficulty, expect that battling the enemy will be much more complex and lengthy than pre-Hardmode.

Nighttime is the best moment to use the Mechanical Worm as it spawns The Destroyer. Unlike the Worm Food, you can initiate the action outside of Corruption. However, using it in Daytime won’t summon the entity or consume the item. Moreover, two bosses of this type can’t co-exist, so defeating one first is important.

Note: Obtaining any boss-summoning item in Terraria will unlock the Like a Boss achievement.

How to Get a Mechanical Worm?

There are two ways to get the item:

  • Monster loot
  • Crafting

Suppose The Destroyer isn’t destroyed for the first time, every enemy has a 0.04% chance to drop the Mechanical Worm. However, Meteor Heads and Old One’s Army enemies won’t count as they’re statue-spawned.

Alternatively, crafting the item is plausible. Head near a Mythril Anvil or Orichalcum Anvil and have the following items in your inventory:

Bosses are a vital part of the game’s progression. These bosses have an order in which you need to defeat them to progress in the game. In addition to granting loot to strengthen your character, these creatures lead you into the later stages of the game, in which you defeat powerful enemies.

Ready to face the world of Terraria and all of the glory that comes with it? Follow this guide to achieve that goal!

Bosses Disclaimer

This guide will only include the essential bosses to defeat to progress in the game. Some optional bosses will be excluded from the list as they’re not necessary to defeat for progression. You can read more about these enemies here.

This guide will also focus on the drops the bosses give in Expert Mode as it’s the middle of Classic and Master Mode.

Eye of Cthulhu

Player with eye of cthulhu
Eye of Cthulhu

The start of your journey is the Eye of Cthulhu. This foe is the game’s first progression point as it drops the loot required to craft the essential equipment for the next boss. Prep work is critical to defeating this boss. This creature floats around as it attacks you, so long-range weapons are a must. It would be best if you had an arena and plenty of arrows for your bow.

You can use the loot from its treasure bags to craft equipment based on whether your world has the Crimson terrain or the Corruption terrain.

Depending on the world that you reside in, the Eye will drop one of the following. For Crimson worlds, it will drop Crimtane Ores.  At the same time, Corruption worlds will drop Demonite Ores.

Brain of Cthulhu

player with brain of cthulhu
Brain of Cthulhu

If your world spawns in the Crimson terrain, you must fight the Brain of Cthulhu. This monster is the next point of progression in the game. Defeating this boss will grant you considerable amounts of Crimtane Ores and Tissue Samples for your arsenal from its treasure bags.

This boss has two stages when you decide to challenge it. The first phase of this monster is initially invincible. It will spawn Creeper minions as the Brain teleports near players as its attacks. Defeating the minions is essential for the next phase of the fight. In the second phase, the Brain will be vulnerable to attack and knockback. It will also aggressively ram players as it teleports around the area.

Eater of Worlds

player with eater of worlds
Eater of Worlds

Journeying into the Corruption will eventually lead you to the Eater of Worlds, so prepare to fight! This boss is a feisty worm that roams around the area while it tries to end your life. Unlike the Brain, this creature has no phases throughout the fight. But this foe has one trick up its sleeve; it will divide into multiple Eater of Worlds once you defeat one segment!

As you defeat this foe, you can expect to receive a treasure bag with plenty of Demonite Ores and Shadow Scales. These can further your progression to defeating more powerful opponents in the game’s later stages.

Skeletron

player with skeletron
Skeletron

The skeletal behemoth that’s Skeletron is the next boss to conquer before facing off the Wall of Flesh. Defeating this creature is required to progress further into the game as it makes the Dungeon available. As you fight this enemy, you’ll have to deal damage to his head and two hands.

Although not required, destroying the hands will make your fight easier. As you defeat the monster, like other bosses, it will always spawn a treasure bag.

The treasure bag will contain a guaranteed chance to drop a Skeletron Mask, Skeletron Hand, and a magic weapon called Book of Skulls.

Wall of Flesh

player with wall of flesh
Wall of Flesh

As your journey to the Underworld begins, you must face the Wall of Flesh. It’s the next step to unlocking Hardmode. This beast is a towering beast that spans the entire screen height. The creature will give a Horrified debuff which will make it difficult, or sometimes, impossible to flee from the fight. Escaping the battle will cause The Tongue to deal severe damage. Teleporting away will cause you to die instantly.

This boss sweeps across the Underworld as it tries to attack you. As its HP draws lower, it will increase its speed. The rate at which the lasers of this monster fire will also increase as it takes damage. It’s essential to defeat this boss before it reaches the end of the map, as it will despawn once it has reached the threshold.

The enemy also spawns The Hungry to block damage to itself. As the boss drops in health, it will generate more minions rapidly. These creatures significantly damage players, so it’s best to defeat the Wall of Flesh rather than clear the minions.

Defeating the Wall of Flesh will trigger Hardmode for your world. Once this happens, it cannot be reversed and will spawn more challenging opponents. It would be best to gear up before the boss fight to survive this harsh mode.

Defeating the Wall of Flesh will guarantee you a Demon Heart (assuming you haven’t consumed one) and a Pwnhammer. You will receive one Emblem of the four classes.

You will also have an equal chance to receive one of these items: Breaker Blade, Clockwork Assault Rifle, Laser Rifle, and Firecracker.

The Twins

player the bosses the twins
The Twins

The first of the Hardmode bosses, The Twins, is the next hurdle to your journey—the cybernetic equivalent to the Eye of Cthulhu. As the name suggests, you will face off with two opponents: Retinazer and Spazmatism. The Twins start as conjoined eyes, one shooting lasers and the other shooting fireballs. As you lower its HP to a certain level, it will transform to its second phase.

The second phase of this fight triggers Retinazer to transform with a laser cannon. At the same time, Spazmatism transforms into a mechanized second form of Cthulhu. Its attacks are more powerful, and Spazmatism’s fireballs fire more consistently akin to a flamethrower while ramming faster.

Defeating The Twins will spawn its respective treasure bag. You are guaranteed to receive these items: Mechanical Wheel Piece, Soul of Sight, and Hallowed Bars.

The Destroyer

player with the destroyer
The Destroyer

If The Twins are Cthulu’s counterpart, The Eater of Worlds has one too! The Destroyer is a mechanized worm considered one of the easier bosses in Hardmode. This worm will float around, shooting lasers from every segment of its body. Unlike the Eater of Worlds, when you destroy one of its segments, it will not divide. Destroying segments will cause the enemy to spawn Probes.

Successfully defeating this foe will drop you a treasure bag with a few guaranteed drops. Mechanical Wagon Piece, Soul of Might, and Hallowed Bars are the following items.

Skeletron Prime

player with skeletron prime
Skeletron Prime

If Skeletron isn’t scary enough, wait till you face off Skeletron Prime! The mechanized version of the boney creature is a challenge to beat. This creature has four weapons with each limb: a vice, laser gun, saw, and cannon. Like Skeletron, you will only need the head to defeat the boss. Fighting this enemy is tricky as it regularly drifts off screen, making targeting challenging.

As you slay this boss, you are guaranteed a treasure bag with the following: Mechanical Battery Piece, Soul of Fright, and Hallowed Bars.

Plantera

player with plantera
Plantera

A flowery opponent, Plantera is a force of nature driven with fury. It’s an enormous flower that clings to solid walls as it moves around the terrain. The first phase of this monster will shoot Seeds at the player.

The second form causes her to increase movement and aggressively attack players, while her Seeds become Poison Seeds. In Expert mode, the seeds can go through walls and homes slightly to the player.

Slaying this beast grants you a treasure bag with a Spore Sac and the Temple key. With it, you may also receive one of the following items:

Grenade Launcher (With Rocket I), Venus Magnum, Nettle Burst, Leaf Blower, Flower Pow, Wasp Gun, Seedler, Seedling, The Axe, Pygmy Staff, and Thorn Hook.

Golem

player with golem
Golem

Next up on the list is the Golem. This boss is a simple one, but not an easy one. This creature has two phases. Its first phase is simple; it’ll jump around and punch you with its fists. The hand and the head are vulnerable to damage. Although the player can defeat its fists, it’s not required.

The second phase is tricky, as the boss’s head will separate from its body and start shooting fireballs and eye beams. The body will also jump around and punch aggressively. In this phase, you must deplete the body’s health to defeat the Golem.

Defeating this boss will result in dropping a treasure bag with a guaranteed chance to receive Beetle Husk and a Shiny Stone with an opportunity to drop a Picksaw.

One of the seven items will also drop from the treasure bag. The following are: Stynger (With Stynger Bolt), Possessed Hatchet, Sun Stone, Eye of the Golem, Heat Ray, Staff of Earth, and Golem Fist.

Lunatic Cultist

player with lunatic cultist
Lunatic Cultist

It’s almost time for the endgame, and the Lunatic Cultist is the precursor to that achievement. This boss is one of the most difficult of the bunch, so preparation is a must. Defeating it will also spawn the Pillars to summon the Moon Lord, so be prepared to fight once it’s defeated.

The Lunatic grows powerful as you deplete its health; prolonging the fight isn’t ideal. The Lunatic has a series of attacks that cycle as the battle continues. It will first start by shooting fireballs and then creating balls that shoot lightning. The enemy will then shoot snowflakes that produce ice shards and attack with shadowflames. At the end of its attack cycle, it will shoot five destructible projectiles twice.

The Lunatic will also have a phase where it generates clones. Damaging the clones will cause the enemy to spawn a Phantasm Dragon. When the Dragon is still alive, and you damage one of its clones, it will generate an Ancient Vision. Attacking the genuine Lunatic is a must as it will automatically summon a Phantasm Dragon if you wait too long.

In Expert mode, The Cultist will spawn Ancient Dooms alongside its attacks.

Once defeated, The Cultist will drop an Ancient Manipulator.

Moon Lord

The end-all-be-all of Terraria, the Moon Lord, is your final opponent. Once you have defeated the Pillars, in just a minute, you will spawn the Moon Lord itself. You must face this last challenge to reach the endgame truly.

The Moon Lord has two hands and a head, which is necessary to defeat to spawn True Eyes of Cthulhu. These three eyes are critical to opening up the core of the Moon Lord. Once you expose the core, you must deplete its health to defeat the Moon Lord.

The enemy’s attacks are deadly. Its hand will shoot two projectiles at once and home to the player. It will also summon phantom versions of the True Eye of Cthulhu, throwing it to the player. Moon Lord’s top eye will occasionally fire a Phantasmal Deathray and will sweep across the entire screen. The player cannot avoid this as it will pass through blocks, and you cannot avoid it with a flying mount.

The True Eyes of Cthulhu will also fire less damaging versions of the same attacks. It would be best if you were careful when these creatures spawn.

Expert mode will make things more challenging as Phantasmal Deathray can kill most players in just one hit.

Slaying this beast will grant you a treasure bag with the guaranteed chance to receive a Gravity Globe, Suspicious Looking Tentacle, and a Celestial Starboard.

Also, you may receive one of these items in the treasure bag.

The following are Meowmere, Terrarian, Star Wrath, S.D.M.G., Last Prism, Lunar Flare, Rainbow Crystal Staff, Lunar Portal Staff, Celebration Mk2, Celebration, Portal Gun (If there is none in your inventory), and Luminite.
