It’s especially important in smaller worlds that are more likely to get infected. In some cases, these „bad“ tiles can completely take over your base, stopping NPCs from inhabiting the buildings. Corruption, Crimson, and Hallow might also prevent you from finishing the game.

Terraria Green Solution basics

Green Solution stats:

CategorizationAmmunition
Sub-TypeConsumable for Clentaminator
RarityOrange
Buy Price25 silver
Sell price5 silver

Terraria’s developers classified Green Solution as ammunition. In other words, it follows the same rules as other similar items. Once you put it in ammunition slots, Clentaminator will automatically use it whenever you press left-click. You can stack up to 999 units of the solution.

The biggest issue with this item is that it’s rather expensive. Each unit (a piece of ammo) costs 25 silver, the cost that quickly increases as you move around the map, spraying the large biomes. The problem is amplified when you consider that disinfection needs to be done quickly. So, you’ll try to balance saving money and properly removing the infection.

Unlike some other items from this category (Blue, Purple, and Red Solution), Green Solution is available at all times. You can get it from Steampunker at any time, except when he’s located in Hallow.

World infection

World infection is a major problem in the game. It might not be noticeable at first, as it doesn’t spread that quickly during pre-Hardmode. However, as you defeat Wall of Flesh, the speed of spread increases, and the evil biomes slowly start taking over. The spread once again slows down when you defeat Plantera.

Inexperienced players often make the mistake of destroying numerous Crimson and Corrupt Altars. This spawns high-tier ores on the map but also leads to the appearance of new, random crimson and corrupt tiles. Even if you previously removed the entire evil biome, this will cause it to respreads.

The biggest issue with world infection is that it can destroy the Jungle biome preventing you from finishing the game. It can also stop NPCs from spawning, so you won’t have access to certain shops and their items. For example, if the corruption spreads too quickly, you might not be able to unlock Steampunker and Clentaminator.

Using Clentaminator and Green Solution in Terraria

In our opinion, Green Solution is the most important of all solution ammo types. It allows you to convert Hallow, Crimson, and Corrupt tiles, turning them into original or forest biome. You can also use it to turn Glowing Mushroom areas into Jungle, which is the less popular function.

The only way to use the solution is with Clentaminator. The tool remains relevant throughout the game, and different playthroughs, as you constantly have to battle evil biomes. Like Green Solution, you can buy it from Steampunker as soon as he appears on the map.

Clentaminator follows the same principle as other ranged weapons. You need ammunition to fire its rounds, and it can only use five solutions, also purchasable from Steampunker. Each left-click consumes one unit of a solution while holding the button will quickly deplete the stocks.

If you want to commit to the removal of infection, start by converting surface blocks because the infection spreads six times faster on the surface. It also helps that the tool works much better in the open than in the underground. When using the Clentaminator below the ground, having a Hellevator can significantly hasten decontamination.

Reducing ammo consumption

Due to the high cost of ammunition, you need to find a gear that reduces its consumption. Items such as Ammo Box, Vortex Breastplate, Chlorophyte Helmet, and Ammo Reservation Potion can help a lot. Make sure to equip items that reduce “ammo consumption” as “arrow consumption reduction” won’t work on solutions.

Ideally, you should transfer this gear and Clentaminator from playthrough to playthrough, as you want to tackle infection as soon as possible. In theory, you can remove the whole evil biome or Hallow during pre-Hardmode, although it will take a lot of ammunition to do so.

Of course, this is if we presume that you won’t destroy too many Crimson and Corrupt Altars that would cause respreads.

How to use Terraria Purple Solution https://avidgamer.gg/terraria-purple-solution/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=terraria-purple-solution Thu, 15 Sep 2022 19:26:10 +0000 https://avidgamer.gg/?p=1694 More...]]> Terraria Purple Solution is an interesting item that only works in conjunction with Clentaminator. The substance is classified as ammo and can be quite expensive.

For many players, Purple Solution is a contradictory item. It allows you to turn any kind of block (including Crimson and Hallow) into its Corrupt counterpart. Unfortunately, these tiles help propagate the spread of the evil biome, which can cause several issues down the line.

Terraria Purple Solution basics

Purple Solution stats:

CategorizationAmmunition
Sub-TypeConsumable for Clentaminator
RarityOrange
Buy Price25 silver
Sell price5 silver

You can get the substance via vendor purchase. Purple Solution is sold by Steampunker during the Solar Eclipse or Blood Moon events. It has the same traits as the other ammunition. In other words, each unit is sold separately, costing 25 silver, and you can stack a total of 999 units within an inventory slot.

It’s worth mentioning that Purple Solution is sold in Corrupt worlds. On the other hand, you can obtain its counterpart Red Solution only when playing on a Crimson map. Drunk world seed is the exception to this rule, where both materials are available simultaneously. Alternatively, you can transfer the ammo from other playthroughs.

Purple Solution, like other items from this category, is extremely expensive. A batch of 999 units will cost you a total of 24,975 silver or 2 platinum and 49 gold.

How to use Clentaminator?

Unlike the solutions, where you need to fulfill certain prerequisites to buy them, Clentaminator is available at all times. That is, as soon as Steampunker is available.

This tool works in the same manner as any other ranged weapon. Briefly clicking a button will use one unit of ammo. Holding the button frantically will quickly deplete your ammunition stocks, so be extra careful when using it.

Our suggestion is to get some ranged gear before using the tool. In other words, you should get equipment and effects that reduce ammo consumption. In the best-case scenario, you can combine Chlorophyte Helmet, Vortex Breastplate, Ammo Box buff, and Ammo Reservation Potion to reach a whopping 61.6% reduction.

It is worth noting that Clentaminator only benefits from “ammo reduction.” So, it won’t benefit from items, buffs, and accessories such as Magic Quiver that reduce “arrow consumption” The tool hits blocks up to 60 units ahead and two blocks behind. Clentaminator works much better on the surface level.

How do you use Purple Solution?

This material works like all other solutions for Cleminator. You just place it in ammo slots, and the tool will automatically use it when covering blocks. It follows the same rules as other ammunition types, first using the items in the top left slots and going to the bottom right slot.

Newbie players are unsure why you would even consider using this substance. In the end, you don’t want to spread the Corrupt biome around. Truth be told, it is mostly used for situations when a player makes a mistake.

For example, you might’ve removed too much of the Corrupt biome. Now, you’re facing an issue where the surface area is significantly reduced, and you can’t access certain materials. For example, there aren’t enough monsters to give you Rotten Chunks to summon Eater of Worlds or The Destroyer.

Sometimes, this issue happens to old characters that start a new playthrough. Equipped with powerful drills and pickaxes, they might start destroying the Corrupt biome, not thinking about the consequences. The truth is, you still need this area to finish the game despite the fact it has an adverse effect.

Everything you should know about Terraria arrows https://avidgamer.gg/terraria-arrows/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=terraria-arrows Thu, 15 Sep 2022 19:06:01 +0000 https://avidgamer.gg/?p=1670 More...]]> Terraria arrows are a terrific way of modifying your damage. Like in other games, they are occasionally a nuisance, as you constantly have to replenish the stock. However, as you progress through the content, it becomes easier to save arrows making the ranged combat that much more exhilarating.

You can use this ammunition only for repeaters and bows. They are usually created through crafting, but you might also acquire them while venturing into the world. If you have several different arrow types in the inventory, the ones in the top left will be consumed first.

List of all Terraria arrows

1. Wooden

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Any wood and stone block assembled at Work Bench (you get 25 ammo pieces) OR Zombie and Chest drop OR Bought from Merchant for 5 copper apiece
Damage 2
Knockback2
Velocity3
RarityWhite
Sold for1 copper
EffectsN/A

Wooden Arrow is the basic type of ammunition in Terraria. You can find it just about anywhere, in places such as chests and vases, and they drop from Zombies. During pre-Hardmode, players often use them as an ingredient for better types of arrows.

There is a 33.3% chance that the item won’t break upon impact. When using certain weapons, it will turn into a special projectile, only changing the visual appearance.

2. Flaming

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Wooden Arrow (10) and Torch assembled by hand (you get 10 ammo pieces)
Damage 7
Knockback2
Velocity3.5
RarityWhite
Sold for2 copper
EffectsOn Fire! debuff

The best thing about this item is that it leaves On Fire! debuff. In theory, if you’re quick enough, you can combine this ammunition with other items to stack the effects on enemies. However, this is hard to pull off during the game.

Flaming Arrows are a great upgrade to regular ones. You just need Torches, which are a fairly common material. They can also briefly illuminate the area when you fire them. Upon touching the surface of the water, the ammo will turn into Wooden Arrow, losing On Fire! debuff but retaining the Flaming’s base damage.

3. Unholy

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Wooden Arrow (5) and Worm Tooth assembled at Lead or Iron Anvil (you get 5 ammo pieces) OR Eye of Cthulhu drop OR Bought from Arms Dealer for 40 copper apiece (after defeating Brain of Cthulhu or Eater of Worlds)
Damage 12
Knockback3
Velocity3.4
RarityBlue
Sold for8 copper
EffectsN/A

Unholy has a strong piercing effect allowing you to hit five enemies with one shot. This is especially useful against enemies who consist of several parts (such as Eater of Worlds).

You can only craft these arrows in Corrupt worlds because Crimson opponents don’t drop Worm Tooth. However, you can transfer the material from other playthroughs allowing you to create Unholy Arrows even in Corrupt seeds.

Although Jester has the better piercing ability, allowing you to penetrate any number of enemies, Unholy has a lower reduction per enemy. For example, Unholy loses 5% damage with each subsequent target, while Jester loses 10%.

4. Frostburn

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Wooden Arrow (10) and Ice Torch assembled by hand (you get 10 ammo pieces)
Damage 9
Knockback2.2
Velocity3.75
RarityWhite
Sold for3 copper
EffectsFrostburn debuff

In many ways, Frostburn is a cold counterpart to Flaming arrows but with significantly better stats. Aside from having a bit higher damage, the ammunition has a 33% chance of leaving a 3-second Frostburn debuff. This is a DoT effect that deals more damage than On Fire! and you can’t put it out in the water.

The only issue with this effect is that it doesn’t work on all enemies. A total of 31 Terraria monsters are immune to Frostburn debuff. Luckily, only six of them are present pre-Hardmode, which is when you’ll likely use this ammunition.

5. Bone

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Bought from Skeleton Merchant for 15 copper apiece
Damage 8
Knockback2.5
Velocity3.5
RarityWhite
Sold for3 copper
EffectsN/A

Bone Arrows is ammunition that is scarcely present in the game. Most people might never use it, as you can only get it from Skeleton Merchant. It doesn’t have particularly high damage compared to other ammo, nor does it have any effect. The only good thing about the item is that it pierces one enemy.

6. Jester

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Wooden Arrow (10) and Fallen Star assembled by hand (you get 10 ammo pieces) OR Gold Chest drop
Damage 10
Knockback4
Velocity0.5
RarityBlue
Sold for20 copper
EffectsN/A

Jester Arrow is an upgrade over Unholy Arrow. It can pierce any number of enemies, which makes it one of the best ammunition types within that particular category. This effect can cause Jester to deal higher damage than some more advanced items (Hellfire, for example).

An interesting thing about this ammo is that it creates an exploding effect upon hitting an obstacle or reaching max range. You can also use it as a source of light in the dark, underground mineshafts. These two characteristics make it excellent for finding mineral veins within the walls.

Jester isn’t affected by gravity and always travels in a straight line. Unlike some other ammunition, it is affected by duration (time spent in air) and not range. So, you can boost its flight distance with Archery Potion.

7. Hellfire

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Wooden Arrow (100) and Hellstone Bar assembled at Lead or Iron Anvil (you get 10 ammo pieces) OR Shadow Chest drop OR Bought from Demolitionist for 1 silver apiece (after defeating Wall of Flesh)
Damage 13
Knockback8
Velocity6.5
RarityGreen
Sold for20 copper
EffectsN/A

Hellfire creates small expositions upon impact, although it cannot penetrate enemies. In that regard, it can be fantastic for enemies that clump up on top of each other. The item is a much higher velocity compared to objects from a similar tier.

A cool thing about Hellfire’s explosions is that they stack with specific equipment and weapons. For example, by using Tsunami or Chlorophyte Shortbow, you can deal enormous damage in an area. This item is better than some other AoE ammunition as it doesn’t harm the player.

8. Endless Quiver

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Wooden Arrow (3996) assembled at Crystal Ball
Damage 5
Knockback2
Velocity3
RarityGreen
Sold for1 gold
EffectsN/A

As the name implies, you can use Endless Quiver endlessly. You can place the accessory in the ammo slot, and it will provide an unlimited source of Wooden Arrows. By the time you get it, you’ll likely have much better ammunition for your bows and repeaters. Still, it works really well as a backup.

The accessory excels for ranged weapons that can only utilize Wooden Arrows (such as the Bee’s Knees). Endless Quiver is fantastic for players who don’t like hassling with ammo and for dealing with regular enemies.

9. Holy

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Wooden Arrow (200), Pixie Dust (3), and Unicorn Horn assembled at Orichalcum or Mythril Anvil (you get 200 ammo pieces)
Damage 13
Knockback2
Velocity3.5
RarityOrange
Sold for16 copper
EffectsSummons two falling stars upon impact

To craft Holy, you’ll need the Hallow biome. The unique feature of this ammo is that it drops two stars on the enemy’s head upon impact. The item is especially great for larger enemies and works well with Daedalus Stormbow. The stars will also spawn when Holy hits a solid obstacle.

Ideally, you should use Holy for weapons that shoot several bolts with each arrow. Keep in mind that each bolt that connects with a target will summon its own pair of stars.

10. Cursed

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Wooden Arrow (150) and Cursed Flame assembled at Orichalcum or Mythril Anvil (you get 150 ammo pieces)
Damage 17
Knockback3
Velocity4
RarityOrange
Sold for8 copper
EffectsCursed Inferno debuff

Cursed Arrows are a reliable source of Cursed Inferno debuff. There is a 100% chance of applying this effect, which lasts for 7 seconds. During that time, the target will slowly lose their life. The debuff is especially great when you combine it with other DoTs.

11. Ichor

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Wooden Arrow (150) and Ichor assembled at Orichalcum or Mythril Anvil (you get 150 ammo pieces)
Damage 16
Knockback3
Velocity4.25
RarityOrange
Sold for8 copper
EffectsIchor debuff

Unlike Cursed Arrows, which are only built in Corrupt biomes, Ichor is common for Crimson seeds. The ammunition applies a debuff of the same name, reducing the target’s defense by 15 for 10 seconds. This is especially helpful against certain bosses. The effect is so strong that you can’t use it in PvP.

12. Venom

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Wooden Arrow (35) and Vial of Venom assembled at Orichalcum or Mythril Anvil (you get 35 ammo pieces)
Damage 19
Knockback4.2
Velocity4.3
RarityOrange
Sold for18 copper
EffectsAcid Venom debuff

Venom is the best DoT ammunition. It always causes Acid Venom debuff, which lasts 10 seconds and gradually reduces the target’s life. Despite its high base damage and strong effect, there is more powerful ammunition in the game.

Although this is a high-tier item, you can make it rather easily. All the ingredients can be bought from merchants, which is why the arrow is available at all times. However, you’ll need to kill Plantera for Vial of Venom to become available.

13. Chlorophyte

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Chlorophyte Bar assembled at Orichalcum or Mythril Anvil (you get 150 ammo pieces)
Damage 16
Knockback3.5
Velocity4.5
RarityLime
Sold for20 copper
EffectsSmart Bounce effect

Like Luminite Arrows, Chlorophyte is relatively hard to acquire. The bars are rather scarce, and you’ll likely use them for other recipes. You can only get them after killing all mechanical bosses.

The thing that makes Chlorophyte Arrows interesting is the Smart Bounce effect. It allows you to fire a projectile into a wall or an obstacle, after which it’ll bounce towards an enemy. Keep in mind that the damage is reduced by 33% after the bounce, which is why it’s much better to fire the weapon directly into an opponent.

Nonetheless, this is a nice choice of ammo in situations where you can’t reach a target at a normal angle.

14. Luminite

Basic stats and effects:

Requires Luminite Bar assembled at Ancient Manipulator (you get 333 ammo pieces)
Damage 15
Knockback3.5
Velocity3
RarityCyan
Sold for2 copper
EffectsN/A

Luminite is the strongest item in this category. When you fire it from a repeater or a bow, it creates a laser effect after the initial projectile. In other words, you can hit the enemy twice with each shot (once with a bolt and once with a laser). The ammunition is instantly destroyed upon use.

Both laser and arrow can penetrate up to four enemies in a line. With each next opponent, the bolt and the laser damage are reduced by 4%. Unlike most other arrows, Luminite has a limited range making it more suitable for medium-range combat.

How to use Terraria Red Solution? https://avidgamer.gg/terraria-red-solution/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=terraria-red-solution Thu, 15 Sep 2022 13:31:27 +0000 https://avidgamer.gg/?p=1608 More...]]> In Terraria, Red Solution is categorized as ammo for Clentaminator, a tool that allows you to convert blocks. It’s one of the 5 Clentaminator ammunition items, and we use it to create new Crimson Blocks.

Although Crimson Biome is considered an evil biome that destroys other areas of the map, it’s also important for the player’s progress. If you meet the specific prerequisite, the destruction of this biome can prevent summoning the Brain of Cthulhu and would prevent you from getting certain items.

Terraria Red Solution basics

Red Solution stats:

CategorizationAmmunition
Sub-TypeConsumable for Clentaminator
RarityOrange
Buy Price25 silver
Sell price5 silver

Terraria Red solution is a consumable that you can only acquire through purchase. Like its Corrupt counterpart, Purple Solution, Red Solution is only available in Crimson worlds.

The only way to circumvent this rule is by playing Drunk World seed, where both solutions are available. However, once you purchase a single piece of either Red Solution or Purple Solution, the other one is no longer available.

You can buy it from Steampunker during Solar Eclipse or Blood Moon. The item is sold in individual pieces, like arrows and bullets. If you consider that 4 pieces of Red Solution are worth one gold, you quickly realize how expensive the use of Clentaminator is.

Using Clentaminator and solutions

The important thing to note is that Clentaminator is a tool available as soon as Steampunker appears. To unlock the vendor, you need to kill one of the three Hardmode mechanical bosses, Skeletron Prime, The Twins, or The Destroyer.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t mean that you’ll get it at the start of the Hardmode. These bosses are strong, and you’ll likely need high-tier gear to tackle them.

The tool works like any other weapon that uses ammo. Ideally, you should find the gear that reduces ammunition use to make it more efficient. Good examples of that are Chlorophyte Helmet, Shroomite Breastplate, Vortex Breastplate, and certain ranged sets.

Clentaminator has a range of 60 units and can also affect two blocks behind a character. Unfortunately, it is much more effective for the surface than it is for the underground. You can recognize Red Solution from other solutions by the red effect that spills when you use Clentaminator.

Why would you use Red Solution?

Clentamintor is great for tackling infections. Green Solution allows you to remove Crimson, Hallow, and Corruption and is the most popular consumable from this group. So, the question is, why would you ever consider using Red Solution?

In some cases, players are so adamant about destroying the Crimson biome during pre-Hardmode. Even if they don’t completely eliminate the biome, they might significantly reduce its area. Keep in mind that this is the only place where you can find Vertebra, which is the main ingredient for Mechanical Worm.

It is worth noting that Mechanical Worm is the item that allows the summoning of The Destroyer. It is one of the three mechanical bosses you need to beat to unlock Plantera. Even if you can no longer assemble Mechanical Worm, this item can drop from random enemies. That is, if you previously haven’t killed the Destroyer.

Besides The Destroyer, the removal of Crimson biome can affect your ability to summon the Brain of Cthulhu in pre-hardmode. So, although you can still progress through the game without this biome, things will get much slower.

How to get coins

There are 3 main ways to get coins:

  • As a drop from every enemy
  • Finding them as loot while exploring. (Pots, Chests, Coin Portals)
  • Collecting Tax from the Tax Collector NPC.

Types of coins

There are 4 main types of coins:

  • Copper Coins (Least Valuable)
  • Silver Coins
  • Gold Coins
  • Platinum Coins (Most Valuable)

Each coin can be crafted using 100 of the previous denomination, e.g. 1 Silver Coin can be crafted using 100 copper, and vice versa.

The BEst way to store coins

There are many places to store coins to prevent them from dropping upon your death. These come in the form of portable storages. When buying things from NPCs, you don’t even need to take the coins out of storage, as the game does that for you!

The following methods are the best ways to store coins:

  • Piggy Bank (Can be bought from Merchant for 1 Gold)
  • Money Trough (0.5% drop chance to drop from Blood Zombies or Dripplers)
  • Safe (Can be bought from Merchant for 20 Gold after defeating Skeletron)
  • Defenders Forge (Can be bought from the Tavernkeep)

The Tax Collector

Terraria Exploding Bullet: Everything You Should Know https://avidgamer.gg/terraria-exploding-bullet-guide/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=terraria-exploding-bullet-guide Sun, 07 Aug 2022 11:33:35 +0000 https://avidgamer.gg/?p=100 More...]]> Terraria loves giving grouped surprises to different players on their overworld. From the best ones such as equipment, weapon, and resources to the most unfavored mobs. Unfortunately, you’ll have to deal with the latter – it’s the cutthroat Master mode, after all.

Thankfully, your arsenal gets progressively better if you’re on the game’s more unforgiving stage. The perfect solution for Goblin Invasion or Blood Moon invaders is the Exploding Bullet. We’ll discuss everything about the ammunition, how to craft it, and ways to optimize its use.

Exploding Bullet – Overview

RarityDamageKnockbackBase VelocityVelocity MultiplierSelling Price
Orange106.64.73xCopper Coin (8)

This ammunition type does what its name says: it explodes upon contacting an enemy or block. It adds a small splash (AOE) and knockback to different enemies if they’re in the blasting vicinity. If an enemy is on the other side of the wall, they’ll still be hit once too close.

Exploding Bullets are one of the easiest ammunition to get in the early Hardmode. However, it’s best to replace them with higher-tier types if possible.

Using a Tactical Shotgun is a decent pick in dealing with large crowds as bullets spread. But take care when using them near the ground as it can damage you. The same concept goes for the Sniper Rifle, as they’re powerful.

How to Get an Exploding Bullet?

The Arms Dealer offers the ammunition for Copper Coin (29) each. However, it’s easy to make 50 from the Work Bench using Empty Bullet (50) and Explosive Powder (1).

Getting the Explosive Powder is commonly done by buying from the Demolitionist for Silver Coins (12) each. But you must defeat the Wall of Flesh first since the item won’t be available in pre-Hardmode.

Other Uses

Since the ammunition type is explosive, it’ll light up the ground below as particles fall. We don’t recommend doing this on purpose unless there are nearby enemies. It’s still best to stick with regular bombs if you’re looking for caves or ores.

In PVP mode, saving coins is possible by committing suicide using Explosive Bullets. It’s a great trick you can do to force spawn at full HP.
