In this guide, we’ll discuss the different types of Baits in the game and the many ways you can catch them. As well as their common spawning points to help you find them easier. Read further to learn more!

WHAT IS A BAIT?

Baits are essential for Fishing, allowing you to reel in fishing lines to catch different types of fish, crates, and items in Terraria. Moreover, there’s a wide variety of Bait options you can choose from in the form of Critters, Jellyfish, NPC, and Crate rewards. To use this item, you must have this in your inventory as you cast your Fishing pole to increase your chances of getting a catch.

ACQUIRING BAITS

Acquiring Baits is crucial for a successful fishing experience in Terraria. Fortunately, there’s one tool that can help you catch almost all of these items to increase your chances of reeling in the best catches. Keep reading this guide to learn more about this amazing tool!

Bug Net

A Bug Net is a valuable tool that allows you to capture various critters in Terraria which you can use as Bait. To obtain this important item, you can buy it from the Mechant for 1 Gold Coin (3DS, old-gen consoles) or 25 Silver Coins (desktop, mobile, console). It can also be upgraded to a Golden or Lavaproof Bug Net to capture Underworld critters like the Lavafly, Magma Snail, and Hell Butterfly.
